This collection on Capitol represents some of the most fertile and satisfying times of my life and career. Not many people get the kind of turnaround I've enjoyed since Nick of Time, especially in a business that eats its young-- and old. I know how lucky I am to have had such validation and opportunity and I'd like to give credit and thanks to the many people who helped bring these albums to life: First, to the amazing songwriters, musicians, singers, co-producers, engineers, art directors, photographers, publishing and production assistants who had everything to do with making these records special. To Ky, Paul, Doug and my hearty, stellar road crew, who help us get the music out to the fans and keep them coming back for more. They are unsung heroes… To my massive attack of a management team…career, business, political and personal, who keep me on track instead of at sea. To Kathy, Ron, Annie, Peter, Melissa, Mary, Bill T, Kate, Lisa T, Sheba, Paul Goldman, Mary Katherine Aldin, Jeffrey Hersh, Stan, Don P, and Jerry and Paul and all their staff. Special mention to Danny Goldberg, Nat Weiss and Joe Smith, who greatly helped keep me in the game. Throughout my six albums and now this Best Of, I've relied on the always steady, enthusiastic support of my friends at Capitol Records - the current team being Andy Slater, Jon Polk, Mark Di Dia, John Ray, Judi Kerr, Joe McFadden, Steve Nice, Mark Rizzo, Devin Franchino, Rick Camino, and Jaime Feldman. Past and present, you've given me the respect and follow through that has made all the difference. Special thanks to Norman and Danielle at DesignArt, Dana Tynan and Ann Cutting for helping to create this beautiful package. And to Tommy Steele for your years of great help and design advice. About the musicians. On most of these albums, I used my longtime touring band, which has everything to do with why they sound great. Ricky Fataar and Hutch Hutchinson have been the stunning rhythm section for all but Fundamental, and George Marinelli is the other lead and rhythm guitarist on Longing, Road Tested and Silver Lining. We've had amazing keyboardists all along…Scott Thurston and Benmont Tench get special mention for the first three…And now Jon Cleary has rounded out my current grandslam of a band, carving a deep pocket on Silver Lining and out here on the road. I also want to thank Don Was, Ed Cherney, Mitchell Froom and Tchad Blake for their deep friendships and brilliance. And lastly, I thank you the fans, for the honor it is having this much fun making a living. -Bonnie
